The seeds have been sown, gardens tended and plants grown. And with bountiful gardens pouring out of their plots in the Rocketts Landing community garden, we're proud to say that we have some impressive green thumbs in our riverside community! So, we wanted to honor the hard work and verdant creations our residents have dedicated their free time to nurturing with a community garden contest.

Great news, friends! We're launching one of Richmond's newest riverfront festivals, RVA Wake N' Sun Fest, this Labor Day holiday at Rocketts Landing. As the location host for this fantastic outdoor event, we're excited to have another opportunity to show Richmonders everything we love about our James River lifestyle. Though details are still forthcoming, here's a sneak peek of what's in store!

Have you been down by the Rocketts Landing marina and noticed a huge sailboat docked from time to time? Chances are, you're seeing the sailboat from Maritime Ministries, an RVA-based outreach organization. We've enjoyed having their vessel down at the marina, so we thought we'd check in with the organization and learn more about what this boat is up to!

Tomatoes. Eggplant. Squash. Sunflowers ...

July is here and so are the endless RVA river days. Richmond's beloved James River turns into a summer playground filled with kayaking, canoeing, fishing, boating, jet skiing, swimming, rock hopping, sunbathing, to name a few -- and the Rocketts Landing marina offers the perfect access to hop in a boat and enjoy the waters! As Richmond's only downtown marina, we offer a variety of ways to enjoy boating and a dockside summer lifestyle.

Last weekend, nearly 2000 people descended upon Rocketts Landing to watch and compete in two annual events along the James River: Rocketts Landing Sprints Regatta and the Rocketts Landing Triathlon. Hosted by the Virginia Boat Club and Richmond Multisports, respectively, each event showcased fantastic athleticism and enthusiastic fan support -- and we were once again thrilled to see such great turnouts for our riverfront races!

Nothing says RVA summer better than a weekend full of sweaty spandex and pure athleticism along the James River! This weekend, our riverfront community hosts two exciting annual events: the Rocketts Landing Sprints Regatta and the Rocketts Landing Triathlon. Hosted by the Virginia Boat Club and Richmond Multisports, respectively, each event brings out our region's top athletes for some fierce competition.

On Saturday, June 8, nearly 500 people came out to Rocketts Landing to race in RVA's first ever Boxer Brief Battle 5k. And based on the amazing camaraderie and participant turnout we saw during the race, it seems everyone had a wonderful time running for a cause!
