Meet Our Newest Rocketts Landing Neighbor: The Yoga Library

Post Date: 01-29-2014
Great news, friends — yoga lovers seeking a resource along the James River are in luck! A new RVA business has found their home right beside Rocketts Landing, and they’re just days away from opening. So, as neighborly neighbors do, we decided to say hi and find out just exactly what The Yoga Library is all about. We’re excited to have a great yoga resource right next door (and we think you’ll dig them, too).

The Yoga Library combines a “unique retreat-like space” with an open studio offering views of the downtown skyline. With an array of classes from yoga for kids (babies to teens) to adults — and from slow yoga to heated power Vinyasa — they’re certainly ready to make sure RVA fulfills her inner yogi.

Not only can you find a plethora of classes to enjoy, the studio features a unique library lounge with nearly 200 yoga books for visitors to read. You can come and enjoy complimentary tea and water, free wifi and any one of their new, used and rare yoga books. And once the weather warms up (which is hopefully soon!), The Yoga Library will also open an outdoor area with dedicated class space, a place to relax — and perhaps, a spot to inspire a moment of meditation.

“Yoga is a lifestyle and reaches into all aspects of life,” explains Owner/Director Jessica. “The Yoga Library is designed to be a place for people to inquire about yoga whether that is through the asanas (poses), meditation or study.”

Currently, The Yoga Library has eight experienced instructors who are knowledgeable in the process of learning and exploring through yoga. Once opened, they will offer four to five classes seven days a week, with the library open daily.

As for their location, they’re located on the east side of Rocketts Landing at 5709 Old Osborne Turnpike. Jessica explains that they chose their home along the James River near Rocketts Landing in order to escape the busy city life and offer yoga in a more peaceful (but convenient!) setting.

“We really enjoy the vibe of revitalization that is going on in the community,” says Jessica. “The stellar skyline view also helped solidify the location of The Yoga Library. Rocketts Landing has some of the most amazing views of RVA!”

The Yoga Library is scheduled to open this Saturday, February 1, with a Grand Opening event. They’ll be offering free classes all weekend, as well as other ways to explore all the Library has to offer. You can learn more and find their Grand Opening schedule on The Yoga Library website. You can also check out their Facebook Page.

From everyone in our Rocketts Landing community, welcome to the neighborhood!
