Rocketts Landing Events Named to Richmond.com’s “Best of Outdoors 2013”

Each year, Richmond.com puts out its list of the top outdoor activities happening in RVA. And for the third consecutive year, two Rocketts Landing events made their “Best of Outdoors 2013” list. We’re thrilled to see Richmonders embrace outdoor activities and fun — and that we can play a role in helping RVA enjoy their time outside. From athletic events to fundraisers to beer tours and more, we do everything we can to keep our riverfront lively and engaging. Thanks to Richmond.com for the shout out!

Richmond.com’s “Best of Outdoors 2013” Rocketts Landing Events

• Cap2Cap Bike Ride (made “Best of” in 2011 and 2012)

Scheduled for May 10, 2014

Cap2Cap is an annual bike ride supporting the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation — an organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the 55-mile pedestrian and bicycle trail currently being built to link Richmond and Jamestown. Cap2Cap brings out over 2000 cyclists for a day of riding through the urban and countryside scenery along the James River. And Rocketts Landing hosts both a starting point and the finishing line. Participants can ride the entire course or just a snippet of the trail, and everyone enjoys a lively after-party at Rocketts Landing. Cap2Cap registration is open, so sign up today!

• International Dragon Boat Festival (made “Best of” in 2011 and 2012)

As part Chinese cultural festival and part dragon boat race, Sportsbackers’ International Dragon Boat Festival is one heck of an event along the James River. Featuring canoes adorned with ornate dragon heads, participants compete in a “team building” synchronized paddle against other teams. Thousands come out for the event — and we’re happy to see this festival make the list again!
