One thing's certain here at our riverfront community: Rocketts Landing residents definitely know how to have fun! And this past Labor Day weekend, they took the opportunity to hit the pool with their Social Committee and celebrate summer's end with one heck of a party.
Around 60 people attended the summer bash and noshed on a variety of delicious food, such as pork barbeque, cole slaw, hot dogs, grilled corn, and broccoli rice salad, to name a few -- and enjoyed a bevy of drinks. According to our residents, their traditional Labor Day party barbeque -- made by Rocketts Landing resident Mike Avery (aka "The Pit Master") with a recipe by resident Jeff Satterthwaite -- is always a hit, and may just be the best in Richmond (We know how passionate people are about their barbeque in RVA, so that's saying a lot!).
New Rocketts Landing resident Gary Gleason brought a stellar mix of music for the day’s event. And as a professional songwriter, we heard he knew just how to create the perfect ambiance for their carefree, poolside cookout.
Overall, we love seeing Rocketts Landing residents gather for camaraderie, food and fun. In fact, it’s something that we know they do rather well — and we thoroughly appreciate the good vibes everyone brings to our community.
If you’re a new Rocketts Landing resident and haven’t yet connected with the residents’ Social Committee, be sure to check them out. Each building has a committee representative you can talk to — and trust us when we say, if you love good times and hanging out with neighbors, then this group’s for you!
