Yoga Classes Begin for Rocketts Landing Residents

Post Date: 09-11-2012

If there's one thing Rocketts Landing residents are good at, it's living an active, fit lifestyle both within and outside our community. From kayaking to cycling to running, our residents seem to always be busy doing something -- and now they can add yoga to their Rocketts athletic list.

Throughout the fall, Rocketts Landing resident Thea McCarthy, RYT 200, will be offering sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Rocketts Landing gym (which is only open to residents). Located in our 210 Rock building, the intimate classes will accommodate up to 12 people.

"Yoga, in general, is good for anybody," explains Thea, "whether it's athletes looking for more flexibility, people looking for a workout or those looking to de-stress and relax. It’s a beginner-friendly class, and everyone’s welcome.”

Thea is a certified and registered yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance who’s been practicing yoga since 2007. She offers a blend of Ashtanga, vinyasa and Yin styles, which focus on building upper body and core strength, in addition to flexibility. If one-on-one instruction is more your style, Thea also teaches personal yoga lessons centered around your specific health goals.
