Warmer weather is here — and so is the bustling action that springtime brings Rocketts Landing. We always love this time of year: people enjoying river activities again, restaurant patios filling with patrons, beach volleyball games ramping up along the riverbank, etc. So, if you’re looking for something to do once your workdays wind down, then check out what’s happening this week right around the river at Rocketts Landing!

April 9: Wine Wednesday at The Boathouse

Known for its awesome riverfront patio and yummy food and drinks, The Boathouse is ready to lead you down a wine-tasting adventure that will make Hump Day your best day! The Boathouse Wine Director Michael Avery will guide you through a complimentary wine tasting featuring six different wines ranging from a French Sauvignon Blanc from Loire to an Argentenian Mablec from Mendoza — which also features special prices on their selected libations.

So, come out and get your wine-tasting fix this Wednesday at Rocketts Landing and enjoy other delicious wine options with their selected half-priced wine menu all. night. long. And you can even prep for the sampling by downloading tasting notes now!

 April 11 & 12: Carefree Boat Club Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony & Open House

Rocketts Landing's boating season is hitting the James River, and the Carefree Boat Club is ready to help you get out on the water without having to own a boat. To prep for the season, they’re having a ribbon-cutting ceremony this Friday and hosting an open house this Saturday. Visitors and interested members can come out to the marina and learn all about the boats they offer, different membership options, social events and more. With a new owner and a renewed focus at Carefree Boat Club, we’re certain this will be one boating season you won’t want to miss out on!

  • Where: Rocketts Landing marina for ceremony & Conch Republic for networking mixer following the event
  • Time: Starts at 3:30 p.m.
  • Cost: Free and open to the public

  • Where: Rocketts Landing marina
  • RSVP: Open to the public and no RSVP needed


April 13: Caribbean BBQ & Fundraiser at Conch Republic Rocketts



Enjoying drinks on the patio at Conch Republic is a spring- and summertime
tradition.

Always ready to help you have a good time, Conch Republic (our Key West–themed riverfront restaurant) is hosting a rockin’ fundraiser this Sunday aimed at raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Hosted by LLS Man of the Year nominee Bob Cox, their Sunday fete will be filled with all-you-can-eat Caribbean BBQ and ribs (among other tasty treats) and a variety of Caribbean-themed drinks and brews. You’ll also enjoy live music from the Cashmere Jungle Lords, Gayle McGee and the Nocturnes, Something Clever and Hazeltone. So come out, surround yourself with great food and friends along the James River, and help raise money for an important cause!

  • Time: 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Cost: $30 per person/$35 at the door
