A slew of awesome Rocketts Landing events are on the horizon -- and we can't wait for all the fun in store. If your idea of a good time combines athletic feats with serious afterparties (our favorite combo!), why not beat the crowds with early registration? To help you prepare, we've compiled a list of all our upcoming events that are ready and waiting for you to sign up!
- May 11: Virginia Capital Trail Cap2Cap Bike Ride -- Richmond.com "Best of Outdoors" favorite!
As an annual fundraiser for the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation, Cap2Cap blends cycling and camaraderie into a daylong bike ride along the trail. With this event, you don't compete but rather enjoy riding for a great cause! This year, you'll also get to enjoy a custom Capital Trail Pale Ale brew from RVA's Hardywood Park Brewery at the afterpary (you don't want to miss out on that one!). So, be sure to register for the Cap2Cap Bike Ride today.
- June 8: Boxer Brief Battle 5k Run – New!
Sponsored by Hitting Cancer Below the Belt, our newest 5k event raises funds for the American Cancer Society and Access Now. Runners will wind through the Rocketts Landing riverfront wearing race briefs — and the best costumes will win awards! Register for the Boxer Brief Battle and get ready to race.
- June 22: Rocketts Landing Sprints Regatta
The Virginia Boat Club hosts this annual regatta, and with their regatta’s 10th anniversary this year, rowing spirits and competition are high! Register to compete in the Rocketts Landing Sprints Regatta and join some of the region’s top rowing talent for a day on the James River.
- June 23: Rocketts Landing Triathlon
Richmond Multisports organizes this annual triathlon featuring a 1.5k swim, 40k ride and 10k run. Competition is always strong and a great way to test your endurance. Register for the Rocketts Landing Triathlon today!
- August 10: International Dragon Boat Festival – Richmond.com “Best of Outdoors” favorite!
Come out and participate in this cultural festival celebrating China and the great dragon boat! Located along the banks of the James River at Rocketts Landing, you and your team members will row to synchronized beat drumming while competing for top place. You’ll enjoy events on land throughout the day. Register for the Dragon Boat Festival and organize a team with your co-workers and friends.
- September 22: Richmond Rox Triathlon
An endurance race in its second year at Rocketts Landing, Richmond Rox brings athletes down to our community to compete in swimming, running and cycling. Afterwards, participants and fans enjoy a lively afterparty along the riverfront. Register for the Richmond Rox Triathlon and prepare to put your body to the test!
- October 12: Rocketts Landing Run to the River
A fundraiser dear to our hearts, Run to the River raises money for neighboring nonprofit, Neighborhood Resource Center (NRC). They provide an array of programming and resources for children and adults living in Richmond’s East End, including a Montessori preschool and job support services. You can either run or walk this race, and signing up as a “Fundrunner” (or Fundwalker) helps you to raise money while competing. Register for Run to the River and experience RVA’s only urban cross-country race (with major hills to boot!).
