For Rocketts Landing resident Christina Dick, her one-bedroom condo in 210 Rock isn't just a place to sleep -- or host a dinner party. As a recent VCU graduate and Community Manager at The Martin Agency, life at Rocketts Landing offers her something far cozier for this next stage of life: a new home.
Originally from Gloucester, Virginia, Christina moved to Richmond for college and lived for a while in a warehouse loft in neighboring community Shockoe Bottom. Upon graduating and landing her job, she was ready to live somewhere that offered her the modern yet peaceful lifestyle she enjoys, matched by an easy commute. After celebrating her graduation at Rocketts Landing restaurant, The Boathouse, she knew she had found the home she wanted.
“I had originally looked at a few other places to live downtown, but the size and price was better at Rocketts Landing,” says Christina. “And it’s really convenient too. When I go home, I take Dock Street straight from work and it’s a quiet, easy ride.”
Christina also enjoys DIY (Do-It-Yourself) home decorating projects and an active social life, and she says the modern style and layout of her one-bedroom condo — along with the location close to downtown — perfectly fits her personality. From turning her walls into a collage of framed pictures to relaxing on her deck with the river view and even stopping by one of our community’s restaurants for a board meeting, Christina finds comfort enjoying the lifestyle she desires.
But, one of her favorite features of living at Rocketts Landing is the tight-knit, diverse community she’s now a part of.
“At Rocketts Landing, there’s a lot more diversity than where I lived before, so I can easily meet a bunch of different people,” says Christina. “And, I love that when I’m at home, I can text my neighbors if they have aluminum foil I can use. It’s that type of community I have here.”
