Richmond.com’s “Best of Outdoors 2013” Rocketts Landing Events
Scheduled for May 10, 2014
Cap2Cap is an annual bike ride
supporting the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation — an organization dedicated to
promoting and supporting the 55-mile pedestrian and bicycle trail currently
being built to link Richmond and Jamestown. Cap2Cap brings out over 2000
cyclists for a day of riding through the urban and countryside scenery along
the James River. And Rocketts Landing hosts both a starting point and the
finishing line. Participants can ride the entire course or just a snippet of
the trail, and everyone enjoys a lively after-party at Rocketts Landing.
Cap2Cap registration is open, so sign up today!
Scheduled for August
2, 2014
As part Chinese cultural festival and part dragon boat race,
Sportsbackers’ International Dragon Boat Festival is one heck of an event along
the James River. Featuring canoes adorned with ornate dragon heads,
participants compete in a “team building” synchronized paddle against other
teams. Thousands come out for the event — and we’re happy to see this festival
make the list again! You can learn more about this year's event and registration details on the Sportsbackers' Dragon Boat 2014 event page.
We love any opportunity to help RVA celebrate the awesome
James River and outdoorsy lifestyle we can enjoy around here. Thanks to
everyone who helps make Rocketts Landing events worth celebrating! We hope to
see you down here along the river soon.
