Rocketts Art Studios Features New Work and Open House

Post Date: 03-14-2014
Spring is in the air at Rocketts Landing — and so is locally made art! As the only working artists studio in our community, Rocketts Art Studios opened for business last fall featuring abstract art by Diane Clement, textiles and jewelry by Robin Grabinska, and the personal art collection of Rocketts Landing resident Tom Yeaman (who is also the Studio’s founder). The studio houses a unique collection of artwork, and we enjoy having direct access to experience such great talent right in our backyard!

As both artist and Studio Director, Diane produces her artwork from the Rocketts Landing–based studio, while hosting wine events and art shows to the public. And next week, they open their doors for a new show and studio focus on featuring a rotating exhibit of artwork by local artists.

“I believe strongly in supporting local and surrounding-area artists,” explains Diane. “I’d love to find up-and-coming artists, and [Richmond] is a good city for that. There is an abundance of excellent artists who we’ll invite to show at Rocketts Art Studios.”

For their rotating exhibits, Diane says that their goal is to have a new show every other month with Robin, Diane and Tom’s artwork as the studio’s anchor. She explains that one of the great aspects of the studio Tom is fostering is that everyone’s tastes are varied, which produces an eclectic and unique studio experience.

Rocketts Art Studios is currently showcasing the following artwork:

In addition to rotating their featured artists, Diane also has other new ideas in the works for the studio. Some developments could include art raffles to support Rocketts Landing events fundraising efforts. Also, Diane says some residents have expressed interest in summer painting workshops for children, and she is currently working to create this program. As new details emerge on Rocketts Art Studios programming, we’ll be sure to keep you posted!

Come out for the Rocketts Art Studios next open house on March 20.

To introduce their new exhibits to the community, Rocketts Art Studios is hosting an open house on March 20, which is free and open to the public. We hope to see you here at Rocketts Landing to enjoy great art right around the river!
